Kaiser Chief’s new release, “Off With Their Heads,” provides a mix of similar sounding songs. Released Oct. 28, the British band has a lot to live up to after its last two albums. The expectation comes in a package of upbeat tunes, energetic guitar riffs and metaphorical lyrics.Unfortunately, the indie rock album falls into the infamous black hole of meeting the anticipation for yet another successful album. The song “Never Miss A Beat,” which was played intensely in Europe this summer, is definitely the album’s strongest. “What did you learn at school? I didn’t go. Why didn’t you go to school? I don’t know. It’s cool to know nothing,” lead singer Ricky Wilson sings convincingly.”Half the Truth” calls for great dancing and screaming emo-teenagers, but the CD tends to turn into a blur. The album flirts with Kaiser Chief’s potential, but never really opens up.
