The presidential race is narrowing down to the finish line.
The Republican Party has a likely nominee with John McCain, while the Democrat’s battle grows more intense. Behind the question of who will be the nominee, I think the real question everyone wants answered is whether a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket will be printed.
Having these two prominent and influential names linked together as one for the November ballot could dramatically build up the election. Each of them alone carries a tremendous amount of support; just imagine them together as one team.
In such a crucial time in our nations history, having a woman in office or an African-American for the first time–whether as vice president or Commander in Chief–would be momentously historic. However, having both would not only be celebrated but would implement a change for our nation here on out.
The Democrat Party would benefit greatly from a team composed of Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. At the same time it would either tarnish or prompt the Republican Party.
According to U.S. News, the idea of a Clinton-Obama ticket stirs fear in GOP circles that it might be unbeatable. I believe if the Democrat Party truly wants to regain control, then this is a safe and sound way of getting it back.
In order for the GOP to challenge the duo they would have to make a strategic move such as choosing a popular and supported Republican figure. Most likely it would have to be a young, energized and motivating leader.
Appointing a Republican with these qualities would draw young voters and provide Republicans and McCain an edge in the race. Perhaps it won’t enough to win the White House, but sufficient for a first-class fight.
Both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama bring enough experience and strength of mind to revitalize the nation on the brink of recession. Senator Obama carries influence over voters due to his passionate speeches and the radiating hope he illuminates. This enabling Senator Obama to connect with independent and young voters.
Senator Clinton has proven herself ready and determined to make change especially in the health care section and in the lives of middle-class Americans. Credibility and thirty-five years of experience attract Americans to Senator Clinton.
No one can deny that Washington D.C. needs help. The government is comprised of old traditional politicians. If Senator Clinton or Senator Obama do not win in November, Americans can expect the same kind of governing where lobbyist have the last say and special interest groups are the catalyst for policy making.
Americans need a president and an administration that is going to stand up against big business corporations and work for the American people.
Over the past seven years we as Americans have been burdened to an administration that has only governed for self-profit and lived off of false accusations. The nation needs Senators Clinton and Obama to begin this revitalization on inauguration day, Jan. 20 2009.
