Feb. 28–The college has narrowed down the applicant pool to two finalists for the president position.
The search committee has chosen Jack Bermingham from Highline Community College in Washington State, and Carlos Campo from Southern Nevada Community College.
“We all agree that we can be very happy with either one,” said Ignacio Alarcon, Academic Senate president and a search committee member.
A public forum will be held for those who are interested in meeting the candidates. The forum is set for 2:30-3:30 p.m and 4-5 p.m. on March 12. The college is planning to hold the forum in the Sports Pavilion, but the exact location has yet to be confirmed.
The finalists will be interviewed on March 13 by the board of trustees who will decide which finalist will replace Superintendent-President Romo next fall.
