Pepper is staying hot after the release of their third album, ‘No Shame.’ Although a few of the songs on the album deserve less praise, a solid number of them still possess the reggae-rock style loved by Peppers’ loyal listeners. When initially listening there was a slight disappointment of the sound of “Wanted,” “Like Your Style” and “Nice Time.” It seemed as though Pepper lost its original witty, laid-back, drive-down-the-Highway-in-the-summer-with-the-top-down sound that had brought them to success. However, don’t let that fool you, the songs start to grow on you after a few listens, just like the entire album eventually does. Nevertheless, the album is an experimental one. At times, the music sounds similar to that of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or even an indie-rock band. Still, their musical soul searching proves to be successful. Faithful Pepper fans will still hear the Pepper timbre in this distinctive mix of good vibrations.
