Griselda Sanchez, who was hired a year ago, is leaving City College for a position at UCSB. She was the first multcultural program coordinator at City College and has accepted a position with UCSB outreach department.
“It was a great opportunity for me,” Sanchez said. “I really grew a lot, and I got to do what I love to do, which is teaching and educating students about the importance of diversity.”
Ben partee, assistant dean of educational programs, said President John Romo and Dean Jack Ullom raised funds for the program to improve diversity on campus.
Partee said, despite Sanchez’s departure, the school’s human resource department is in the process of hiring someone to fill the position.
