Beach Volleyball: City College 5 vs Moorpark 0 (at East Beach)
City College swept Moorpark for the second time this season. According to head coach Ariana Garner, the Vaqueros (10-1, 7-0) mixed their pairing up and won in straight sets at all five spots. The No. 1 duo of Kelissa Lemoine and Bella Johnson held the Raiders to single digits in their first game, winning 21-9 and 21-14.
Beach Volleyball: City College vs Santa Monica (at East Beach)
Results were not available for City College’s second game of the day against Santa Monica College at 1 p.m. The Vaqueros swept the Corsairs when they played on Friday, April 1, in Santa Monica. City College will face Glendale and Bakersfield on their next game day, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, at Santa Monica.
Baseball: City College 10 at Cuesta 3
The Vaqueros moved within a game of first place in the Western State Conference-North by knocking off Cuesta in a make-up game. Colby Downard earned the win, throwing five innings with 3 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 1 strikeout, and 2 walks, and Decker Mac Neil threw the final four innings for his first save of the season. Catcher Andrew McKenna and designated hitter Gavin Haimovitz both went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. City College (19-11, 12-5) is on the road at Oxnard College at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19.
