Monday, April 4
Men’s Golf: City College [380] 4th at Citrus WSC#8 (at San Dimas Country Club)
City College’s men’s golf placed fourth at San Dimas Country Club, led by Diego Palladino and Gabe Marmon. Palladino had the low round for the Vaqueros, shooting 72 and tying for sixth-place, while Marmon shot a 73. The Vaqueros finished one stroke behind third place College of Canyons. The Vaqueros will tee off at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, for the Rig City Invitational at Bakersfield Country Club.
Tuesday, April 5
Track and Field: SoCal Hep/Dec Championships (at El Camino College)
The Vaqueros did not send any participants to compete in the heptathlon or decathlon events. The next event for City College will be at the Vaquero Classic at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 hosted by Glendale College.
Men’s Tennis: City College 0 at Desert 9 (SoCal Regional)
The Vaqueros lost to the College of the Desert in the SoCal Regional Quarterfinals. Individual stats for City College were not available as of the time of publishing time.
Baseball: City College 7 at Cuesta 5 (11 innings)
City College went to extra innings at Cuesta College but secured the victory, led by Gabriel Baldavino and Carson Cahoy. Baldavino led the team with three hits, while Andrew McKenna led the team with two RBIs on a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. Aiden Garza threw five innings for the Vaqueros allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, and 3 walks with 3 strikeouts. Dylon Furseth got the win in relief, and Colby Downard had the save.
Softball: City College 8 vs Oxnard 12 (8 innings)
City College lost against Oxnard College in eight innings. Starting pitcher Lauren Indermuehle threw four innings for the Vaqueros, giving up 10 hits, 7 runs, 6 earned runs and 2 walks with a strikeout. However, the Vaqueros bats rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring three runs to tie the game 8-8. Sarah Hammonds, Naveah Freitas, and Paige Powell led the Vaqueros with three hits apiece.
Wednesday, April 6
Men’s Volleyball: City College 2 at Santa Monica 3
City College went into five sets against Santa Monica College. The Vaqueros won the two first sets 25-19 and 26-24, but Santa Monica won the last three sets 25-14, 25-17 and 15-12. Individual stats for City College were not available at the time of publishing. The Vaqueros next game will be an away game at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at El Camino College.
Thursday, April 7
Baseball: at Cuesta (Postponed)
City College’s away game against Cuesta was postponed. There hasn’t been any additional information provided for the reason being postponed. The game for the Vaqueros will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 at Glendale College.
Softball: City College 0 vs Moorpark 13 (5 innings)
The Vaqueros got jumped on early by Moorpark, giving up five runs in the first inning. Sarah Hammonds pitched three innings for the Vaqueros giving up 11 hits, 9 runs and 0 walks with 0 strikeouts. Mellanie Barth went 2-for-2 with two singles.
