The Associate Student Government meeting on Sept. 15 announced plans for assigning representatives to Schott and Wake campuses and future event plans.
Schott and Wake City College campuses are schools of extended learning that offer educational and community programs to adults. They provide adult high school general educational development programs, career skill building courses, parenting courses, a multitude of tuition-free classes, and programs for individuals whose second language is english.
The ASG listed Schott and Wake student and faculty representation as a main priority for the 2023 school year. President Wilmer announced that as soon as the ASG develops a solidified board of commissioners, it will be a first priority to assign at least one representative for the two campuses.
The ASG hopes that by allocating a commissioner to the sister campuses, they will bring more awareness to the opportunities available.
These representatives will hold the responsibility of protecting and enforcing a safe, equitable environment for students of the campuses.
In the next month, City College will be hosting two major events.
A blood drive will be held on City College’s main campus with a tentative date for Sept. 21. Location and times are soon to be determined.
On Oct. 14, a walk will be hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association at La Playa Stadium. The 2023 Walk to End Alzheimers will open registration at 9 a.m. with the walk beginning at 10:15 a.m. Pre-sign up is available on the Alzheimer Association’s website along with a volunteer form for those interested.
The ASG’s next meeting will be held Friday, Sept. 22.
