Erika Endrijonas was appointed superintendent president of City College on Monday, May 8 by the Board of Trustees.
In fall 2022, City College opened applications for the superintendent president position with hopes of announcing a candidate at the end of March. However, on March 24 the board extended their search, circling back to Endrijonas, who was one of three previous finalists.
According to the Board of Trustees, Endrijonas will officially begin on August 1.
Endrijonas was a former dean at City College for nine years, and has served as president for Pasadena City College and Los Angeles Valley College, as well as vice president at Oxnard College.
Prior to Endrijonas’ run for City College president, she served as the assistant dean at Oglethorpe University in Georgia, along with serving as the learner services coordinator at Granite State College in New Hampshire.
Board of Trustees President Jonathan Abboud explained his approval for Endrijonas because of her respect in the community, leadership skills, and commitment to her work.
“It has been my goal since I left SBCC to return,” said Endrijonas in a City College press release. “It is where I started my community college career. I am thrilled to render service in a place I love.”
