Thursday, Oct. 10: The Center for Equity and Social Justice will be hosting a Global Latinx “Culture Cafe” with SBCC Ambassadors from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the West Campus Center Room 207. The event will celebrate Latinx culture with food and activities. Other events the Equity Center will hold throughout the month can be found in its calendar.
Thursday, Oct. 10: Roadtrip Nation, a traveling organization to help people find careers, will be on campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Luria Library Patio. Students can visit their green RV to receive career insight and advice.
Thursday, Oct. 10: Phi Theta Kappa will be hosting a Jeopardy Night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Physical Science Building Room 101. Students can participate as individuals or with a team, answering questions about topics such as American history, life sciences, pop culture and geography. There will be chances to win prizes and free pizza will be provided. Students can RSVP through a Google form.
Friday, Oct. 11: The play “Blithe Spirit” put on by the SBCC Theatre group, will open at 7:30 p.m. at Garvin Theatre.
Saturday, Oct. 12: At 11 a.m. Phi Theta Kappa will be hosting a Beach Clean-Up at Leadbetter Beach. Phi Theta Kappa and students interested in participating will meet in front of Shoreline Cafe.
Saturday, Oct. 12: In celebration of national “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month,” C.A.R.E.4Paws is holding its free Wags n’ Whiskers Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the West Campus Lawn. This is “the largest pet adoption and animal festival on the Central Coast” and will feature dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and reptiles from over 20 local animal shelters and rescue groups.
