Sept. 10 – 3:15 p.m.
A City College coach sustained damage to his vehicle while it was parked by the Sports Pavilion on East Campus. The car was a red BMW and there were multiple scratches keyed around the entire car. The victim was advised to file a report with the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Sept. 11 – 9:30 p.m.
Security was notified of graffiti on the second floor of the men’s restroom in the Interdisciplinary Center. The graffiti took up an entire multi-use bathroom stall with the writing of “SBCC.” Custodians repainted the covered surface right away.
Sept. 16 – 10:30 a.m.
A student observed an altercation between a male and a female near the Drama/Music Building and the Business-Communication Center. The male grabbed the female by the hair and violently pulled her head forward. The reporting student asked the female if she was okay, but the male answered for her. The witness left the scene to go to class where she explained to her instructor what she witnessed. Together, they reported it to Campus Security, but the couple was gone by the time security arrived.
Sept. 17 – 8:10 a.m.
A security officer observed a minor vehicle accident taking place in Parking Lot 4C. A black Toyota Corolla was trying to park when it hit a parked Chevy Camaro, leaving the Chevy damaged on the bumper. The security officer obtained the driver’s information and a note was left on the Chevy.
Sept. 17 – 11:50 a.m.
A City College employee reported a break-in of the geology bus while it was parked by the International Education Center over the weekend of Sept. 13 – Sept. 15. The front door hinge was broken, but nothing valuable was kept in the bus and nothing was reported stolen.
Sept. 18 – 7:30 p.m.
A female student contacted security about alleged stalking. The victim stated that she is being stalked online by a person who is pretending to be one of her friends. However, when she contacted her friend he said he had no idea who was sending the text messages. The stalker is interested in the victim’s location and wants to meet up with her at different events. She was advised to notify the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Sept. 19 – 8 a.m.
A former City College student was seen stealing items from the SBCC Campus Bookstore worth up to $252. The male came into the bookstore around 8 a.m., grabbed a black backpack and started filling it with a number of items. These included a pineapple-shaped LED lamp, a fold-out Tech Pocket, a Hydroflask, a coffee mug, an axe multi-tool, various candy bars and more. The suspect then stole someone’s Starbucks coffee as he left the store. Security made contact with him but he refused to stop and walked off campus. However, several students recognized the suspect and security obtained his name and details, whereafter they called the Santa Barbara Police Department. They were able to recover some of the stolen items.
