Two City College students were arrested in the early morning on March 14, after being tied to a string of overnight burglaries in Isla Vista.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies and UC Santa Barbara Police Officers responded to a report about suspicious activity. They quickly apprehended Christian Gallo-Delgado after the two suspects fled on foot.
A short time later, they were able to arrest James McKee at his apartment on Picasso Road. The two suspects were roommates.
After receiving a search warrant, authorities searched the suspect’s home and found a large number of stolen property, which connected them with two other burglaries that occurred earlier that night. This included a large, flat-screen television and several designer purses.
McKee has been continuously enrolled at City College since fall of 2016, and Gallo-Delgado enrolled in fall of 2016 as well, but is not currently attending.
“We of course takes this very seriously whenever one of our students is involved in something like this,” said Luz Reyes-Martin. “We have placed a hold on both student records.”
McKee will be referred to the dean of student discipline if he returns to City College, however they can’t do anything with Gallo-Delgado because he is not currently enrolled.
“We do take it very seriously,” Reyes-Martin said.
