Sept. 9 – N.D.
The Oxnard Police Department contacted campus security to inform that a City College vehicle was burglarized. According to security, the crime took place while the vehicle was undergoing maintenance at an automotive shop in Oxnard. The large cargo-truck, called “Wooly,” is used to transport equipment to City College’s far-out field trips. The “Wooly Crew” often serves as an advance party, setting up camp days before an expedition. Although “Wooly” carries everything from kitchen knives to graduated cylinders, it is unknown what, if anything, was stolen. Facility and Operations staff said Kevin Nichols, a City College lab and field technician, delivered the vehicle for maintenance and is currently following up with Oxnard Police Department.
