Security responded to the East Campus cafeteria after an individual was suspected of shoplifting. Staff detained the man until security arrived. According to Eric Fricke, director of campus security, the student was stopped as he attempted to walk away with a Naked Juice. The student stated that impatience with the long line prompted him to walk away.
Aug. 26 – 6:14 p.m.
A City College student contacted campus security after being harassed by another student via text. The student stated that he felt mistreated by his friends. According to security, the texts were not threatening in their nature. The incident occurred at an unknown location.
Aug. 27 – 11:15 a.m.
Campus Security Director Eric Fricke assisted Santa Barbara County Probation Department officials while conducting a probation compliance check in the Interdisciplinary Building. Security served as an intermediary by asking the student to exit the classroom before speaking with officials.
Aug. 27 – 7:00 p.m.
A female student reported to campus security that she was sexually harassed off campus. The incident occurred when she was attending a course located at Santa Barbara High School.
Aug. 28 – 10:30 p.m.
A City College student was battered by another student according to campus security logs. The incident occurred off campus.
