Feb. 18 – 8 a.m.
Security received notice that a small canister of marijuana had been found in the Humanities Building Room 111. The instructor claimed she smelled the small purple canister and found it on the floor beside a desk. Security officers disposed of the bottle.
Feb. 21 – 12:20 a.m.
At just past midnight a drunken male City College student was discovered passed out just outside the Campus Center. Police attempted to wake the student who had wandered to campus from a party in one of the neighboring apartment complexes, though he was uncooperative. After numerous attempts to calm him down, police took him into custody for public intoxication. The student has been referred to the dean of student discipline.
Feb. 21 – 11 a.m.
Campus Security received a call from the athletics department regarding stolen materials from Pershing Park. Someone had broken into the gate to the batting cages, and stolen roughly 50 used baseballs used for batting practice. A separate cage containing baseball bats and other materials appeared to have been tampered with but nothing else was taken. Additional locks and chains have been added to the batting cages gate.
Feb. 24 – 1:10 p.m.
Security apprehended an individual who had previously been asked not to return to campus.
At approximately 1:10 p.m. the man was seen outside the Campus Center and was approached by security shortly thereafter. The man lunged at security three separate times from his chair and on the third time was handcuffed and placed under citizen’s arrest. Police took the man into custody.
Security noted that the individual had been previously seen strolling through campus wearing dark clothing and multiple surgical masks. Staff members had reported the man kept asking for a job and when he was asked to leave he took entire jars of candy.
Feb. 26 – 8:50 a.m.
Early in the morning a male student was making a sharp turn around the corner in front of the Administration Building when he collided with a female staff member immediately knocking her to the ground. The staff member suffered minor injuries to the left side of her leg, though she was relatively unharmed. The student was very apologetic, and the staff member was able to return to work. The male has been referred for student discipline.
March 2 – 8:30 a.m.
Security received a report that the Orfalea Early Learning Center had been vandalized over the weekend. It was evident that someone had moved furniture, as well as waxed curbs and ledges for the purpose of skateboarding them. There were also obscene drawings written on some of the chalkboards. There was no significant damage.
March 2 – 8:50 a.m.
A student filed a report with security claiming his blue Prius had been the victim of a hit and run on Feb. 16 or 17. The student asked security to check the parking lot cameras, which don’t exist. Security stated that there wasn’t much that could be done due to the unexplained gap in the time it took for the student to report it.
