Sept. 19 – 8:30 a.m.
Student Services staff contacted Campus Security for help with a male individual who refused to leave the Student Service building after wanting to use a City College Computer with no authorization. The Santa Barbara Police Department was then requested to help escort the individual out.
The male have had contact with Campus Security several times before because of disruptive behavior in the Cartwright Learning Resources Center and the La Playa Stadium. This was the second time Security contacted SBPD about this individual and the police stated that they would arrest him if he appears on campus again.
Sept. 20 – 12:00 p.m.
A City College employee reported a male student to Campus Security after he had sent threatening emails. The student was referred to the dean of student discipline.
Sept. 24 – 10:00 a.m.
Campus Security made contact with a male student suspected to have stolen headphones from the Bookstore. Staff discovered discarded packaging from two sets. When they accessed the Bookstore’s camera system they found the suspect removing the headphones, he then took a t-shirt from the display table and went into the changing rooms. He later came out from the dressing room and left the store. Staff found the discarded packages in the dressing room.
Employees from the bookstore saw the suspect on campus a few days later and alerted Security. They made contact with the student and informed him to stay out of the Bookstore. He was referred to dean of student discipline.
Sept. 24 – 3:20 p.m.
A student’s IPhone 4 was stolen from the West Campus cafeteria. In the report, she stated that she had left her backpack unattended to get utensils and the phone was missing from her bag when she returned to the table five minutes later. The phone was the only item discovered missing and there are no suspects.
Sept. 29 – 12:30 p.m.
A female student informed Campus Security about a male student who was stalking her. She stated that he showed up unannounced at her place of work. He had previously asked her out on a date during the second week of school, but she had said no. Security contacted the male student and he was referred to the dean of student discipline.
Sept. 30 – 7:50 p.m.
A male student harassed and threatened a female student off-campus through text messages. There were threats of physical harm and the victim reported the incidents to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
