The nominee for California Community Colleges Classified Employee of the Year was announced at the Board of Trustees meeting on March 13.
Four classified employees are chosen statewide to receive this award and Nancy Tolivar, City College network specialist, is one step closer to receiving it.
“We have a wonderful classified staff,” Gaskin said. “Nancy has been key on some critical projects that have to do with campus-wide use of technology.”
Tolivar worked on projects such as the electronic locks, the Gmail migration and campus cards.
“Our congratulations to her,” said Lisa Macker, Board of Trustees president.
The Board voted unanimously on Tolivar’s nomination.
Last year, Juan Patino, grounds keeper, was nominated and selected by the Chancellors Office as a recipient of this award.
The annual award began in 2009. It is given to community college classified employees who “demonstrate the highest levels of commitment to professionalism and community colleges,” according to the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
The Board of Trustees will meet again at 4 p.m. March 27, in Administration Room 211.
