As the Humanities Building nears completion, the City College Foundation is seeking $5 million in donations.
Based on the amount of money donated, benefactors can have certain spaces located in the building named after them. For $2.5 million a donor can even name the entire building.
“The renovation of this prominent structure provides the ideal time to peruse naming opportunities for the building and its various spaces…” said Vanessa Patterson, executive director of the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College, at the Sept. 26 Board of Trustees meeting.
The following are the various spaces and their price tags:
Naming of Humanities Building | $2,500,000 |
Atkinson Gallery | $1,000,000 |
Black Box | $500,000 |
Auditorium | $300,000 |
Computer Labs ($250K each) | $500,000 |
Conference Rooms ($50K each) | $100,000 |
Studios & Classrooms ($25K each) | $100,000 |
“This is particularly exciting and I commend the Foundation for honoring this priority and moving forward with it,” said Superintendent President Dr. Lori Gaskin.
This is the largest naming campaign in the history of City College.
The Foundation will start taking bids this Spring.
