Feb. 22 – 9:30 a.m.
Grounds staff found approximately an ounce of marijuana on the fire road behind the library. Security officers were unable to locate the owner and contacted the SBPD.
Feb. 25 – 2:05 p.m.
Custodian staff reported a student assault to security. On Monday, student Justin Hill assaulted his former girlfriend when he grabbed her and refused to let her go. Terrified, she ran into the library and asked staff members for assistance. On Tuesday, Hill was arrested by SBPD at the Pershing Park tennis court and charged with domestic violence.
Feb. 25 – 5:45 p.m.
Security observed four City College students smoking marijuana at the West campus bluff. Two male and two female students were discovered on the ocean view benches with the illegal substance. All four received a referral to student discipline.
Feb. 26 – 5 p.m.
A City College staff member reported male students who approached and harassed female students on West Campus. The three males’ odd behavior included pranks and silly questions intended to be broadcast over the Internet. Offensive remarks to the females were also reported. The perpetrators have created YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and a website to post their prank videos from locations throughout Santa Barbara. When campus security officers confronted the men, two cooperated by showing identification and one refused. All three were sent to the Dean for referral. During the Fall 2012 semester two complaints from female students had been reported about the same activities.
