Feb. 7 – 12:45 p.m.
A homeless female who reported an assault on her male companion flagged a security officer down. The victim was found on a dirt path leading to Montecito Street. SBPD was called and the victim was treated for minor injuries.
Feb. 7 – 7:35 p.m.
Campus security responded to a disruptive student in ECC-29. The individual was seen texting in class twice and using a calculator on a non-calculator test. When confronted, the student responded, “This isn’t f— high school, I should be able to text when I want.” Security spoke with the individual and he was cooperative.
Feb. 12 – 8:40 p.m.
Security was notified by the library reference desk that a male was conducting himself in an inappropriate manner. Fellow students witnessed the male looking at pornographic material and touching himself at the same time. It is believed, he was using the library’s public computer. This individual has had several complaints made against him in the past. Officers spoke to the individual about the incident and he was cooperative.
Feb. 13 – 5:50 a.m.
An officer unlocking the Pershing Park tennis courts discovered a badly injured male lying in front of the walkway. The man had dried blood on his face and swollen purple eyes. Santa Barbara Police and Fire department along with Harbor Patrol responded. The individual was transported to Cottage Hospital.
Feb. 16 – 4:00 p.m.
Weekend security responded to an assault at Pershing Park during the baseball game. Physical education staff reported a homeless male attacking a homeless female; he struck her across the face causing her mouth to bleed. The suspect slapped the female in full view of the officer and was tackled to the ground and arrested. The incident disrupted the baseball game and fans became witnesses.
Feb. 19 – 7:30 p.m.
Security was notified of a white Mazda truck break-in at lot 2-C. The vehicle’s passenger window was broken into and damaged. A pink purse, containing a checkbook, textbooks and journal were stolen along with a beach bag.
Feb. 19 – 8:00 p.m.
A fight between two male students was reported in the PE building. One student said to another “I’m going to f— you up.” There has been ongoing friction between the two students and they were referred to student discipline.
