Superintendent-President Lori Gaskin will recommend Andrew Harper to be hired as the Executive Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning at the upcoming special board meeting this Thursday.
Harper, who has been Director of Continuing Education at City College since 2009, would take over the inaugural position of Executive Director for the Center for Lifelong Learning. The center was created last year in response to the reorganization of the continuing education division and will be fiscally self-sustaining.
“Following a nationwide search were so pleased to bring to the board the recommendation to hire Andy Harper,” said Gaskin. “This represents the realization of the vision for the Center for Lifelong Learning to have someone of Andrew’s background and depth of knowledge and caliber leading this effort is portents of a successful and positive future for the [center].”
Gaskin said she is excited about the variety of ideas Harper already has for the future of the center.
Harper attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received a master’s degree.
