Nov. 19 – 5:10 p.m.
Security received a report of a student’s gym bag that was stolen from a cubby in the Life Fitness Center. The bag contained an iPhone 4, a silver wallet clip with a debit card, credit card and driver’s license, a MP3 player and set of car keys. The bag has not yet been recovered.
Nov. 20 – 6:40 p.m.
Security received a report from the Life Fitness Center that a student left his wallet in a backpack and placed the bag in a cubby with car keys underneath. When the student returned, his car keys and wallet, containing his driver’s license and credit card, were missing.
Nov. 21 – 7 p.m.
Security then received a report that the same student’s vehicle was stolen from Lot 2-C. He had left the vehicle in the parking lot overnight. When he returned at 2 a.m. to check on the vehicle, it was gone. Security reported the incident to Santa Barbara Police Department. The whereabouts of the vehicle are unknown.
Nov. 27 – 12:43 p.m.
Security received a report from the facilities department that one of their work trucks is missing approximately 13 gallons of gas from its tank. The incident happened sometime between Nov. 21 and Nov. 26, during Thanksgiving break. On Nov. 28 the facilities department reported another work truck had been tampered with and the fuel gauge was broken.
Nov. 29 – 9 a.m.
Security received a report from Schipper Construction, the company working on the Humanities Building, that fuel had been siphoned from one of their vehicles. Approximately 13 gallons were missing.
Campus security urges students and staff to lock their vehicles and park in lit areas of the parking lots. Please report all incidences to the security office at (805) 730-4064. For emergencies dial (805) 730-4200 or 911.
