Proposition 30 is ahead with a margin of 12.4 percent, according to the vote-by-mail results of the Santa Barbara County general election ballot with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
The proposition, which will temporarily increase taxes to fund education, is leading with 56.2 percent in favor and 43.8 percent opposed. The approval rating was previously 46 percent.
“We’re very excited about 30,” said Santa Barbara councilwoman Cathy Murillo. “We have our fingers crossed.”
