City College music groups will treat the Santa Barbara community to a three day musical performance in December.
Between the third and fifth of December, City College’s three different ensembles will demonstrate their musical skills as the annual winter series kicks off.
“There will be fabulous music performed by fabulous musicians,” said Dr. John Clark, chair of the music department.
The Symphony Orchestra, The Jazz Choir/Chamber singers, and Concert Band from City College will perform for the community at the Marjorie Luke Theatre.
The Symphony Orchestra will perform first at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. The Orchestra will play some challenging pieces, Tchaikovsky’s “The Sleeping Beauty Suite,” to name a few.
This year the Orchestra has also selected three different soloists: Trombonist Michael Evans, and a double violin performance by Kiri Hauck and Jeon Richard.
While the Jazz and Chamber singers will go on stage and perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Fe Bland Forum at City College.
At 7 p.m. Dec. 5 it’s time for the Concert Band to enter the stage at the Marjorie Luke Theatre to show their skills.
Overall the musical festivities will cover classic music mixed with standard and holiday tunes.
There will be a cover charge of $8 for students/seniors and $12 for general admission for the shows at the Marjorie Luke Theatre.
